This is a MUST book for Bruckner lovers. Yes, it presumes a bit of musical knowledge, but even a novice like me can learn a great deal. I especially enjoyed Derek Scott's assertion of light and darkness in Bruck|About the Author|John Williamson is Reader in Music at the University of Liverpool. He is author of The Music of Hans Pfitzner (1992) and the Cambridge Music Handbook Strauss: Also sprach Zarathustra (1993).
